Terms & Conditions
The terms on which you may use this website, its articles and its statistical calculators.
These terms govern your use of bellstatistics.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
They are short on purpose, and they are about the website only. If we are doing paid work for you, that work is governed by the agreement we signed — see section 2. How we handle personal data is covered separately by our privacy policy.

1. Who we are
This site is operated by Bell Statistics, an advanced analytics consultancy based at Medinat ha-Yehudim St 29, Herzliya, Israel. You can reach us at allon@bellstatistics.com.
2. What these terms cover
These terms cover the public website: the pages you read, the articles, the glossary, the case studies, the calculators, the newsletter and the consultation calendar.
They do not govern paid work. Where we have a signed proposal, statement of work or services agreement with your organisation, that document governs the engagement, and where it conflicts with anything on this page, that document prevails. Nothing on this page varies a signed agreement, and nothing on this page creates one.
3. Who may use the site
This is a business-to-business service. The site is intended for people acting in a professional capacity, and it is not directed at children.
You must be at least 18 to submit a form or book a call. If you are contacting us on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
4. Our content, and what you may do with it
The content of this site — the articles, the glossary, the case studies, the calculators, the methods they implement, the text, the graphics and the design — belongs to Bell Statistics or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright.
We publish it to be read and to be useful, so the permissions below are deliberately broad. What we object to is wholesale reproduction, not a colleague being sent a link or a paragraph being quoted in a deck.
- You may read the site, link to any page on it, print a page or save it for your own reference, and share it inside your organisation.
- You may quote short extracts in your own work, provided you attribute them to Bell Statistics and link to the page you took them from.
- You may not republish our articles or glossary entries in whole or in substantial part, present our content as your own, or remove attribution from it.
- You may not scrape or bulk-extract the site, copy the calculators or their logic into your own product or service, or resell any part of it.
- Client names and logos on this site belong to those clients and are used with their permission. Nothing here grants you any right to use them.
5. The calculators come with no warranty
Read this section before you rely on a number one of our calculators gave you.
The calculators are provided free, for information and education. They implement standard statistical methods and we have taken care over them — the numerics are tested — but they are general-purpose tools that know nothing about your situation. They do not know how your data was collected, whether its assumptions hold, how your users were assigned, what else you are testing at the same time, or what a wrong answer would cost you. Those questions decide whether a result means anything, and a calculator cannot ask them.
So: the calculators are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. They do not constitute statistical, professional, financial or legal advice, and using one does not make us your advisers.
Do not make a business decision on a calculator output alone. Have anything that matters reviewed by a qualified statistician — that is what we do, and we are happy to talk about it. To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any decision taken, or loss suffered, in reliance on a calculator or its output.
Everything you type into a calculator stays in your browser and is never sent to us. That is set out in our privacy policy, and it also means we have no record of your inputs and cannot help you reconstruct them.
6. Articles, glossary and case studies
Our articles, glossary entries and case studies are general information about statistical practice. They are not advice for your specific circumstances, and no relationship between us is created by your reading them.
Statistical practice moves, tooling changes, and a piece written some time ago may no longer reflect what we would recommend today. Every article carries a date.
Case studies describe work we did for particular clients under particular conditions, published with their agreement. They are not a prediction, and nothing in them is a guarantee that you would see a comparable result.
8. Consultation bookings
You can book a free 30-minute consultation through the site. It is a conversation, and that is all it is: booking one creates no engagement, no obligation on either of us to proceed, and no adviser relationship. Anything we say on the call is preliminary comment on a problem described to us in half an hour, not advice you should act on unreviewed.
Please do not send confidential material before or during a discovery call, and please do not share personal data about your customers or staff. If we go on to work together we will put an agreement in place first, and that is the point at which confidential material should change hands. We will treat what you tell us with discretion, but until an agreement is signed we take on no confidentiality obligation, and we may already be working on similar problems for others.
The slots shown are real availability. We may need to reschedule or cancel a call, and we will tell you as soon as we can if so. You can reschedule or cancel your own booking using the links in your confirmation email.
9. Proposal links
If we have sent you a link to a commercial proposal hosted on this site, the link is personal to you, non-transferable, time-limited, and may be withdrawn. Please do not forward it outside your organisation.
The proposal and its pricing are confidential to your organisation and ours. Access to it is logged, which is described in section 8 of our privacy policy.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site in a way that damages it or interferes with anyone else's use of it. In particular:
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, or any system connected to it.
- Do not submit anything unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or containing malicious code through our forms.
- Do not use our forms or calendar to send unsolicited advertising, or to make bookings you do not intend to keep.
- Do not place automated load on the site beyond ordinary use, or attempt to circumvent our rate limits.
- Do not misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any organisation.
11. Links to other sites
The site links to third-party websites and tools, including those of our partners and service providers. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their availability or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
12. Availability and changes
We do not guarantee that the site will be available uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including any calculator or article, at any time and without notice.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
13. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and everything on it are provided as they are and as available, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Limitation of liability
Subject to the paragraph above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Bell Statistics will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site — however caused, and whether or not we were advised such loss was possible.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of this site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD 100). This limit applies to the website only; liability arising under a signed services agreement is governed by that agreement.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms, or from your use of the site in a way they do not permit.
16. General
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continue in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these terms; we may assign ours as part of a transfer of our business.
These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the entire agreement between us in respect of your use of this website.
17. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction.
This clause concerns the website. A signed services agreement may specify a different governing law and forum for the engagement, and where it does, that agreement prevails.
